My experience with the local home inspectors I have recommended is positive. They provided a detailed report including photos. Reports are delivered to both the agent and the buyers. The turnaround time is usually very expedient. Often the information contained in the report is used for negotiating purposes. But even if your goal is to use the report for information only, it can still be very helpful. It aids in planning future repairs and system or appliance replacements down the line.
When considering a home inspector, consider asking for a few quotes. Then you can compare pricing and services offered. Inquire if the company offers discounts for bundling services. Check reviews to see what people are saying about the company’s inspection services. And you can always ask your trusted real estate agent for recommendations!
